Frontenac is 9-1 against Baxter Springs since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Raiders will take on the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Frontenac is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Frontenac is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Girard, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Raiders have posted against the Trojans since September 30, 2023.

Frontenac had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-22, 25-18.

Frontenac found their leader in sophomore Laynee Shay, who had 15 digs.

Meanwhile, Baxter Springs earned a 2-0 victory over Iola on Monday.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Baxter Springs was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-10.

Baxter Springs' win bumped their record up to 26-15. As for Frontenac, their victory bumped their record up to 25-14-1.

Frontenac came out on top in a nail-biter against Baxter Springs when the teams last played last Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
