Softball Recap: Manatee Hurricanes vs. Northeast Vikings
Manatee and Northeast squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Manatee had to settle for second. They lost 11-1 to the Vikings. The Hurricanes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2017.
Manatee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hope Jordan, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Another was Jenna Caldwell, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Manatee's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Northeast, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-6.
Manatee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northeast, they will face off against Pinellas Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
