Baseball Recap: Parrish Community Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Parrish Community's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Braden River Pirates by a score of 7-2. The Bulls haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Daniel Norbeck tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Brown, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Jonathan Maassen was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Parrish Community pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs over those games. As for Braden River, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Parrish Community and Braden River's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Parrish Community and Manatee (who has only given up 3.2 runs per game) will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Parrish Community is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12 runs per game this season. Similarly, Braden River will square off against Bishop Verot at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, a team that's only allowed 2.17 runs per game.
