Softball Recap: Cape Hatteras Hurricanes vs. Manteo Redskins
Cape Hatteras was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Manteo Redskins, falling 15-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redskins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in March.
Cape Hatteras saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Hickman, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was Gracie Wyatt, who got no hits from her an at bat.
Cape Hatteras' loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Manteo, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Cape Hatteras will face off against Bear Grass Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Manteo, they will square off against Pasquotank County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.11 runs per game on average), something the Redskins will no doubt try to take advantage of.
