Baseball Game Preview: Greenon Knights vs. Greeneview Rams

For the second straight game, Greenon will face off against Greeneview. The Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenon has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Greenon came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 16-4 to Greeneview. The Knights have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

For Greeneview's part, Nick Hassid made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Hassid has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Greeneview let Chase Walker and Max Penrod run wild. Walker went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Penrod went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one double. Those three hits gave Walker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lyriq Abling, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Greenon's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Greeneview, they moved to 8-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Greenon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Greeneview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
