Baseball Game Preview: Spring Valley Timberwolves vs. Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles

The Spring Valley Timberwolves will head out to square off against the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Spring Valley is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since April 4, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Hurricane by a score of 4-2.

Spring Valley got a good showing from Jake Vanarsdale, who struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave Vanarsdale a new career-high in strikeouts.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Woodrow Wilson and St. Albans had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Woodrow Wilson came up short against St. Albans on Thursday, falling 9-3. That's two games in a row now that the Flying Eagles have lost by exactly six runs.

Woodrow Wilson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Wilhite, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Spring Valley took their victory against Woodrow Wilson in their previous matchup back in March of 2019 by a conclusive 14-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Spring Valley since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
