Softball Recap: Saratoga Springs Takes a Loss

After flying high against Niskayuna last Friday, Saratoga Springs came back down to earth. The Blue Streaks lost 14-2 to the Ballston Spa Scotties on Monday. If the Blue Streaks were looking for revenge after losing 7-4 to the Scotties when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Saratoga Springs saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackie Cutting, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. Ava Taber also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Saratoga Springs' loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Ballston Spa, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Saratoga Springs will face off against rival Colonie Central at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Ballston Spa is set to square off against their familiar foe Averill Park at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Scotties 2, the Warriors 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
