 Tekonsha couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Waldron Spartans by a score of  10-8 on Tuesday. Tekonsha has struggled against Waldron recently, as their  match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
  Angel Veenkant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered ten  runs (all of which were unearned)  on four hits and racked up six Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Lydia Blashfield made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Carissa Shedd, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-5.
 Tekonsha will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Addison at 4:00  p.m. As for Waldron, they will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pittsford at 5:00  p.m.  on April 30th.
