Soccer Recap: Mira Monte Finishes Even with Taft

It was a proper cat-fight when Mira Monte duked it out withTaft on Thursday. Neither the Mira Monte Lions nor the Taft Wildcats could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Lions' first draw of the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Jose Oviedo, who's now up to seven this season.

Mira Monte's draw gives them a new season record of 5-1-1. Meanwhile, Taft's record is now 3-3-1.

Mira Monte's road trip will continue as they head out to face Strathmore at 9:10 a.m. on Friday. Mira Monte's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Strathmore's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Taft, they won't get a chance for a more definitive result for a while: they'll take on Chavez at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
