Football Recap: Strong Performance on D from Campbell Parsons and Bennett Plane Leads Brookland-Cayce over Aiken

If Aiken wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Brookland-Cayce, they should've done a better job of containing Andrew Frick. The Bearcats won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Fighting Green Hornets 20-19 thanks in part to Frick, who threw for 304 yards and three touchdowns. Brookland-Cayce is 2-1 when Frick posts 250 or more passing yards, but 0-4 otherwise.

Brookland-Cayce didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Campbell Parsons and Bennett Plane. Brookland-Cayce got some further help from Davion McGill-Boykin: he forced one fumble and made nine total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Despite the loss, Aiken saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brandon Poston picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made ten total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Brookland-Cayce's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Aiken, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
