Isabella hit Verbena with a seven-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils lost 12-2 to the Mustangs.

Verbena saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Simmons, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was Simmons' first of the season.

Billingsley's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7-1. As for Verbena, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Billingsley got the 'W' in their previous matchup on Monday against Verbena by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
