Baseball Game Preview: Chief Sealth Seahawks vs. Ingraham Rams

The Chief Sealth Seahawks will square off against the Ingraham Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Chief Sealth has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Chief Sealth gave up the first runs last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Nathan Hale 9-8.

The team relied heavily on Brady Murphy, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Clark, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Ingraham came up short against West Seattle on Monday and fell 4-1. The Rams haven't had much luck with West Seattle recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Ingraham saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendan Doyle, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Chief Sealth is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Ingraham, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Chief Sealth has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Ingraham struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Chief Sealth beat Ingraham 6-1 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Seahawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
