Basketball Game Preview: Apple Valley Sun Devils vs. Hesperia Scorpions

Apple Valley hasn't had much luck against Hesperia recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Apple Valley Sun Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hesperia Scorpions at 6:00 p.m.

Apple Valley is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-44 heartbreaker at the hands of Serrano.

Meanwhile, Hesperia entered their tilt with Burroughs on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 92-43 victory over the Burros. Given the Scorpions' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Burros are ranked 983rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Apple Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Hesperia, their win bumped their record up to an identical 7-10.

Apple Valley was dealt a bruising 85-52 loss at the hands of Hesperia in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Apple Valley, Anggulio Guerra Del Valle (who went 7 for 13 on his way to 16 points in addition to seven assists and five boards) won't be suiting up this time.
