Volleyball Recap: Nine Straight Home Wins for Prairie

Prairie proved they can win big on Friday (they won by three) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Eads Eagles. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Prairie was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-9, 25-27, 25-22, 15-11.

Kali Sutter was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 26 digs. Those 26 digs gave her a new career-high.

Prairie was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces in five consecutive contests.

Prairie pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Eads, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.

Prairie didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Haxtun on the 13th. As for Eads, they will venture away from home to face off against McClave at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
