Recap: Leland Cubs vs. Coahoma County Red Panthers
The Leland Cubs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 11th straight loss. They fell 42-29 to Coahoma County. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Leland in their matchups with Coahoma County: they've now lost nine in a row.
Caitlin Hall continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Coahoma County, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which Hall has scored at least 25% of Coahoma County's points.
Leland bumped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.8 points per game. As for Coahoma County, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leland will take on West Bolivar at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Bolivar comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last ten games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Coahoma County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Shaw at 6:00 p.m. on December 28th. Shaw will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
