Football Preview: Pearce Mustangs vs. Lake Highlands Wildcats
Pearce is 1-9 against Lake Highlands since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Pearce came up short against Marcus and fell 31-20. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Marauders are ranked 87th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Andrew Casagrande, who rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Meanwhile, Lake Highlands was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap two weeks ago as they fell 21-17 to Flower Mound.
