Basketball Game Preview: Pine River-Backus Tigers vs. Nevis Tigers

Pine River-Backus and Nevis are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but not for long. Pine River-Backus will head out to take on Nevis at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Pine River-Backus' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pine River-Backus challenged Cromwell on Monday. The Tigers came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 60-51.

Meanwhile, Nevis posted their closest victory since February 3, 2025 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 55-52 win over Sebeka. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Pine River-Backus' victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Nevis, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Everything went Pine River-Backus' way against Nevis when the teams last played back in December of 2025, as Pine River-Backus made off with a 74-54 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pine River-Backus since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
