Baseball Recap: Cooper Comes Up Short

Cooper extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 12-14-1. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tomball Kings Homeschool. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Homeschool this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-4 loss last Tuesday.

As for Tomball Kings, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-14-2. Five seems to be a good number for them as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For Tomball Kings' part, Steven Mims spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, Tomball Kings saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garren Bailey, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Another was Kaleb Brand, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Cooper does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tomball Kings, they will take on Kelly Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
