Softball Recap: Ooltewah Extends Winning Streak to Three

Ooltewah entered their tilt with McMinn Central on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Chargers 13-2. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 contests by six runs or more this season.

Jaeda Tucker made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Savannah Mayse and Emmerson Reed did most of the damage at the plate: Mayse went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Reed went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits Mayse has posted over her last 11 matchups. Another player making a difference was Hailey Schmidt, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Ooltewah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McMinn Central only posted an OBP of .250.

Ooltewah's record now sits at 22-5. As for McMinn Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.
