Basketball Recap: Jim Thorpe Takes a Loss

Jim Thorpe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Saucon Valley Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Olympians of the 57-48 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

It was another big night for Jack Robertson, who went 10 for 18 on his way to 30 points and eight rebounds for Saucon Valley. Those 30 points gave Robertson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adam Clark, who posted seven points and nine boards.

Jim Thorpe's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Saucon Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Jim Thorpe has already played their next match (against Northwestern Lehigh), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Saucon Valley has already played their next game, a 62-54 win against Lehighton on the 14th.
