Baseball Game Preview: Canton Golden Bears vs. Mechanicville Red Raiders

Canton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over Ogdensburg Free Academy. Seven seems to be a good number for the Golden Bears as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Saranac typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Mechanicville proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 11-2 victory. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Mechanicville pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Canton, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
