Softball Recap: Silver Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Silver came out on top against Deming on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run fourth inning. The Fighting Colts were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Wildcats. The victory continues a trend for the Fighting Colts in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won eight in a row.

Maria Ruelaz was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brailyn Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Silver kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive matches.

Silver's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-4. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.5 runs. As for Deming, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-13.

Silver will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair will be back at it again later today.
