Football Preview: Benson Bobcats vs. Bisbee Pumas
Benson has gone 8-2 against Bisbee recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Benson Bobcats will face off against the Bisbee Pumas at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Benson took a loss when they played away from home on September 6th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Tombstone , sneaking past 14-12.
Dawson Judd continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 49 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 164 yards and a touchdown. Benson also got a significant boost from Flint Davis, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.

He was just one part of a punishing run game: Bisbee was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 326 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2023.
Bisbee wouldn't let Catalina keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Bisbee can thank Michael Coronado and Fabian Hernandez for forcing both of them. Hernandez also set a new season high mark in total tackles with 17.
The victory got Benson back to even at 2-2. As for Bisbee, their record is now 3-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided in the on the ground. Benson has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 166 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Bisbee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 240.8. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Benson was taken down by Bisbee 43-13 in their previous matchup back in August of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lopez, who rushed for 140 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 287 yards and two touchdowns.
