Baseball Recap: Central Decatur Comes Up Short

Central Decatur was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Martensdale-St. Mary's Blue Devils, falling 14-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 19-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in June of 2024.

Central Decatur's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Martensdale-St. Mary's, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Martensdale-St. Mary's beat Central Decatur by a score of 19-0 later that day.
