Hammond Morton got themselves on the board against Gary West Side on Monday, but Gary West Side never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Cougars. The Governors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by ten runs or more this season.

Alex Rodriguez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Gerard Garnett was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Hammond Morton: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Michael Stevens, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.
