Basketball Recap: Berlin Takes a Loss

Berlin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 27th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Newfound Regional Bears, falling 70-28. The Mountaineers lost against the Bears in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 39-33 score last time.

Berlin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Newfound Regional, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berlin will venture away from home to face off against Kennett at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kennett will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Berlin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Newfound Regional, they will head out to square off against Hillsboro-Deering at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Newfound Regional is facing Hillsboro-Deering at the right time seeing as Hillsboro-Deering is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
