Soccer Game Preview: Bayshore vs. Palmetto

Bayshore hasn't had much luck against Palmetto recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bayshore Bruins will face off against the Palmetto Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Bayshore is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Tuesday. They fell just short of Admiral Farragut by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 549th, while the BlueJackets are ranked 174th).

Meanwhile, neither Palmetto nor Riverview Sarasota could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Bayshore's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. With that draw, Palmetto's record moves to 2-5-2.

Bayshore might still be hurting after the 9-1 loss they got from Palmetto in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Bayshore avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
