Basketball Recap: St. Johns Country Day Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

St. Johns Country Day extended their home winning streak to seven games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Kendall Proffitt. The St. Johns Country Day Spartans blew past the St. Joseph Academy Flashes 63-12 on Friday thanks in part to Proffitt, who went 9 for 12 from beyond the arc on her way to 44 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of St. Johns Country Day's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Mejias, who posted 11 points. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

St. Johns Country Day's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Johns Country Day will venture away from home to face off against Clay at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Joseph Academy, they will head out to challenge Old Plank Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
