Basketball Recap: Azusa Takes a Loss

Azusa and Banning squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Azusa had to settle for second. They fell 69-62 to the Banning Broncos. The Aztecs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Banning's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Riley Aguilar, who posted 18 points along with seven boards and four steals. That's the most steals Aguilar has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Junior Dunahoo, who had 17 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Azusa's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Banning, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-8.

Azusa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Banning, they have already played their next game, a 58-33 win against Maricopa on the 14th.
