Basketball Game Preview: Stevens Falcons vs. O'Connor Panthers

Stevens is 1-9 against O'Connor since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Stevens Falcons will host the O'Connor Panthers at 11:00 a.m.

Stevens is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 89-51 loss at the hands of Brennan. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-20.

Meanwhile, O'Connor strolled past Holmes with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 62-47. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Huskies are ranked 953rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

O'Connor has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Stevens, their loss dropped their record down to 13-16.

Things could have been worse for Stevens, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-43 loss to O'Connor when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of O'Connor's Hagen Hurst, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds.
