Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Falls to Fairfield in First Game of Season

Mt. Vernon had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 2-0 to the Fairfield Mules. The defeat continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Mules: they've now lost five in a row.

Fairfield's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Mt. Vernon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Woodlawn on the 30th. As for Fairfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Newton on the 30th.
