Basketball Game Preview: Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians vs. Robinson Maroons

The Carlyle Indians/Lady Indians will challenge the Robinson Maroons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carlyle is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Last Saturday, Carlyle strolled past Waltonville with points to spare, taking the game 50-36.

Meanwhile, Robinson had to suffer through an 87-55 loss at the hands of Teutopolis. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 613th, while the Wooden Shoes are ranked 129th).

Carlyle will need to focus on slowing down Ian Gilmore, one of several Robinson players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points. What's more, Gilmore also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aiden Maxwell, who posted ten points.

Robinson has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-20 record this season. As for Carlyle, their victory bumped their record up to 22-5.
