Baseball Game Preview: Beal City Aggies vs. Shepherd Bluejays

The Beal City Aggies will venture away from home to challenge the Shepherd Bluejays at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Things were looking good for Beal City after they put the first runs on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 13-4 to Okemos. The Aggies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Shepherd put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over Laker.

Easton VanAlstine and Brady Robinson did most of the damage at the plate: VanAlstine scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Robinson scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Robinson a new career-high in RBI (two). Sam King was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Shepherd's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Beal City, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Beal City skirted past Shepherd 7-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aggies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
