Baseball Recap: Vista Grande Comes Up Short

Vista Grande and Chaparral squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Vista Grande had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Firebirds by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Firebirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 back in February.

Vista Grande saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ruben Baca, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Vista Grande has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-14-1 record this season. As for Chaparral, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-11.

As of now, neither Vista Grande nor the Firebirds have any future games scheduled.
