Softball Recap: Chilton County Tigers vs. Tuscaloosa County Wildcats
Chilton County's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Tuscaloosa County Wildcats 5-4.
Kaylee Dunn was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Dunn was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Macey Pierce was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 12 matches. Ishunti Brown also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Chilton County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tuscaloosa County only posted a batting average of .214.
Chilton County's record now sits at 25-6-2. As for Tuscaloosa County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 25-8.
Coming up, Chilton County will venture away from home to face off against Holtville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Tuscaloosa County, they will welcome Hillcrest at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
