Football Game Preview: Brighton Bruins vs. Irondequoit Eagles + Official Tickets

The Brighton Bruins will head out on the road to challenge the Irondequoit Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Brighton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Churchville-Chili with a sharp 35-14 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bruins' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Saints are ranked 213th).

Meanwhile, Irondequoit strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-7 W against Spencerport. Those 12 points were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Brighton better keep an eye on Cooper Moore. He was instrumental in Irondequoit's win, rushing for 133 yards and one touchdown. Moore showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 51 yards.

Brighton's record now sits at 6-2. As for Irondequoit, their record is now 8-0.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Brighton has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 170.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Irondequoit struggles in that department as they've been averaging 292.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Brighton was able to grind out a solid victory over Irondequoit in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 14-6. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
