Basketball Recap: Auburn Tigers vs. Smiths Station Panthers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Auburn Tigers had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 67-38 win over the Panthers at home. Auburn has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Tabari Allen, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Franklin, who scored six points along with 11 assists and five rebounds.
Auburn's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Smiths Station, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season.
Auburn will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,108 points over their last 14 contests. Smiths Station does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
