Softball Game Preview: Harrison Central Huskies vs. Cambridge Bobcats

The Harrison Central Huskies will face off against the Cambridge Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Harrison Central will be strutting in after a victory while Cambridge will be coming in after a loss.

Harrison Central's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on St. Clairsville with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Huskies have won nine games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Cambridge faced off against Marietta on Wednesday. The Bobcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-4. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Laney Harper made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Miranda Cole, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Harrison Central's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cambridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
