Volleyball Game Preview: New Covenant Academy Warriors vs. Cabool Bulldogs

The New Covenant Academy Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Cabool Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with New Covenant Academy sitting on seven straight victories and Cabool on six.

New Covenant Academy barely beat Spokane the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors blew past the Owls 3-0 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Warriors have posted against the Owls since October 20, 2022.

Jenna Jackson went supernova, getting 11 digs and four aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (two).

Jackson wasn't the only good servers: New Covenant Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Cabool was able to grind out a solid victory over Fordland on Saturday, taking the game 3-1.

In the three sets Cabool was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-12, 22-25, 25-15.

New Covenant Academy's record is now 25-4-3. As for Cabool, their record now sits at 26-7-3.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: New Covenant Academy has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Cabool struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
