Recap: Pinellas Park Patriots vs. Canterbury Crusaders

The Pinellas Park Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Canterbury by a score of 55-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Pinellas Park has suffered yet this season.

Canterbury's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lou Donnelly, who scored 25 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Donnelly has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Calhoun, who scored 24 points along with nine rebounds.

Pinellas Park bumped their record down to 1-13 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Canterbury, their victory bumped their record up to 3-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinellas Park will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Tarpon Springs at 7:45 p.m. on January 18th. Hopefully Tarpon Springs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Thursday. As for Canterbury, they will head out on the road to challenge Lakeside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakeside Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Canterbury in Florida (Lakeside Christian is ranked 242nd, while Canterbury is ranked 683rd).
