Softball Recap: Sulligent Comes Up Short

The Sulligent Blue Devils didn't have quite enough to beat the Itawamba Agricultural Indians on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kallie Taylor was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ella Wheeler, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Sulligent's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Itawamba Agricultural, they pushed their record up to 22-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Sulligent will host South Lamar at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Itawamba Agricultural, they will venture away from home to square off against Tishomingo County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
