Volleyball Recap: Mountain Ridge Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Perry

On Saturday, Mountain Ridge faced Perry in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions fell 2-0 to the Perry Pumas. If the Mountain Lions were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Pumas when the teams met back in March of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Nate Roskelley paced Mountain Ridge's offense, picking up five kills. Roskelley got some help from Leyton Gafford and his eight assists. Noah Peace controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Mountain Ridge has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. The victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Mountain Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Liberty on the 8th. As for Perry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Hamilton on the 8th.
