Basketball Game Preview: Chalmette Owls vs. Archbishop Hannan Hawks

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Chalmette Owls take on the Archbishop Hannan Hawks at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday... Archbishop Hannan took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Chalmette, who comes in off a win.

Chalmette took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Mandeville by a score of 60-47. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Owls' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Skippers are ranked 104th).

Archbishop Hannan has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 58-53 heartbreaker at the hands of Archbishop Shaw.

Chalmette's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Archbishop Hannan, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-4.

Chalmette lost to Archbishop Hannan on the road by a decisive 55-39 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Chalmette avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
