Basketball Game Preview: Newcomers Lions vs. Bayside Commodores

The Newcomers Lions will face off against the Bayside Commodores at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Newcomers has struggled recently with 21 defeats in a row, while Bayside will arrive with seven straight victories.

Last Monday, 2025 welcomed Newcomers with a 68-43 loss courtesy of Metropolitan.

Meanwhile, Bayside blew past Aviation, posting a 69-40 win. The Commodores have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 29 points or more this season.

Bayside's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Newcomers, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.
