Basketball Recap: Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers vs. Spearfish Spartans
The Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 69-42 loss at the hands of Spearfish. Lead-Deadwood was down 55-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Seth Hamilton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Spearfish, almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. Dylon Doren was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Lead-Deadwood's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Spearfish, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lead-Deadwood will take on the Scotties at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Philip is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Spearfish, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Kernels at 3:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Mitchell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Spartans in South Dakota (the Kernels are ranked sixth, while the Spartans are ranked 58th).
