Football Recap: South Bend Washington Takes a Loss

South Bend Washington played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 42-12 loss at the hands of the South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Huskies: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the defeat, South Bend Washington saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zy'Rell Greene threw for 184 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

South Bend Washington didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaydon Lineberry and Xzavion Walker.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Bend Saint Joseph to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dallas Downey, who picked up 47 receiving yards and one score, and also punched in one TD on the ground.

South Bend Washington's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

South Bend Washington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 44-35 defeat against New Prairie on the 17th. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-6 loss against Penn on the 17th.
