Softball Recap: Maria Carrillo Comes Up Short

Maria Carrillo's last matchup with Cardinal Newman could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Thursday. The Pumas lost 14-4 to the Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-0 defeat on April 8th.

Maria Carrillo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rachaely Yaya, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Maria Carrillo's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Cardinal Newman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season.
