Basketball Recap: Leyden Skates Past Wheeling with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lincoln, Leyden was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Wheeling Wildcats 55-28. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Wildcats are ranked 550th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leyden's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Wheeling, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-22 record this season.

Leyden will head out on the road to square off against Addison Trail at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Wheeling has already played their next game (against Buffalo Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
