Basketball Recap: Richland Takes a Loss

Richland managed to keep up with Bishop Carroll until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Richland Rams lost 87-64 to the Bishop Carroll Huskies. The Rams' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Jace Casses was his usual excellent self, going 20 of 32 on his way to 50 points and seven steals for Bishop Carroll. The contest was Casses' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Tremel, who posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Richland's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Bishop Carroll, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-8.

Richland and Bishop Carroll could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Richland will challenge Forest Hills at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday down 312 places (343 vs. 31). Meanwhile, Bishop Carroll (ranked 369th) will meet Westmont Hilltop (ranked 54th) at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
