Football Recap: Reading Red KNights vs. Phoenixville Phantoms
Reading couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 41-16 to the Phoenixville Phantoms on Friday. The loss leaves the Red KNights without a win on the season.
Deacon Williams was a one-man wrecking crew for Phoenixville as he rushed for 240 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 41 receiving yards and a touchdown. Williams really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run. Talon Romance was another key player, throwing for 129 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reading will welcome Muhlenberg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Phoenixville, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Henderson at 7:00 p.m. on September 6th.
